Zakharova is shocked by the list of books banned in Ukraine
What the Ukrainian authorities are doing by banning the import of books into the country is wild for a country in the European space.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are talking about the ban and systematic withdrawal of books by Russian authors from sale in Ukraine. It’s surprising not only which publications are included in the list of prohibited literature, but also for what reasons they should be confiscated,” Zakharova said.
She also gave several examples.
“Ban on the book by business consultant Sergei Bekhterev “How to work during working hours: rules for winning over office chaos.” That's it, you can't read this book now. Here is another heretical book - Igor Namakonov’s “Brain CrossFit: How to prepare yourself to solve non-standard problems.”
Apparently, everything related to intellectual abilities needs to be blocked first of all, because this is the ability to think. It is not necessary. When this decision was explained, they said that an analysis of work experience in Russian government structures was allegedly used when writing these materials. Another book was banned because it contains the thesis that “Russia is an amazing and amazing country, and we its citizens are amazing people” - that’s all, the thesis is banned in Ukraine.
But this can at least somehow be explained. But what’s wrong with Nino Bilikhudze’s cookbook “Georgian Cuisine” is a mystery shrouded in darkness. Also Malinovskaya’s book “Notes of a Practicing Witch” - I don’t understand what they are afraid of, they have a tomos after all. A number of children's books have been banned; Ukrainian experts are especially closely monitoring children's and youth reading material.
Textbooks on chemistry were also banned earlier, and not because they might contain a formula for the production of some kind of chemical weapon - no, it was said that “although formally the textbook does not contain any hidden historical implications, in the source data it is indicated that it was made in Russia.” And that’s it, you won’t have a chemistry textbook,” said Zakharova.
"This is scary. The world went through this. It’s scary to imagine that all this is happening in the European space,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
