Zakharova was outraged by the demolition of the bust of Zhukov and the mosque that came under fire in Donetsk
Incident with a mosque in Donetsk, against the backdrop of constant shelling and statements of peace from the President of Ukraine, force the Russian Federation to doubt the adequacy of the policy of official Kyiv.

“The first days of the new administration, the new power, unfortunately, did not bring the ceasefire promised during the pre-election marathon in the south-east of Ukraine. Over the past week, the intensity of shelling, on the contrary, has increased noticeably; their number has almost doubled, according to experts.
Of course, a blatant event was the shelling in the early morning of June 4th by a motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the Akhat Jami mosque, in the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk. Let me remind you that this is a day sacred for Muslims, the holiday of Eid al-Adha. We hope that all the election promises that were given to the Ukrainian people by the current Ukrainian leadership, namely to stop the violence in the east of Ukraine at any cost, will still be fulfilled by the new Kyiv authorities,” she emphasized.
Zakharova was also indignant barbaric demolition of the monument to Zhukov in Kharkov by nationalists and the reaction of official Kyiv.
“I say again, unfortunately, the trends are the opposite, millions of people were shocked by another barbaric act of Ukrainian national radicals, we are talking about the desecration of the monument to Zhukov in Kharkov. As you have seen, fascist elements, with the connivance of local law enforcement agencies, simply demolished the marshal’s bust in broad daylight amid hooting. Let me remind you that it was under his command that Soviet troops liberated Ukraine from German invaders 75 years ago.
It is obvious to us that those who stood behind this action, in addition to counting on a loud effect, an intimidating effect, it seems to me, they also set the task of simply testing the immunity of Ukrainian society and, of course, the new authorities in Kyiv, which has been artificially implanted in recent years virus of nationalism.
Judging by the responses, and the responses, of course, were massive, the overwhelming majority of residents of Ukraine, whose fathers and grandfathers saved the world from the “brown plague” in the Red Army, sharply condemned this act of vandalism.
