Zakharova nominated the White Helmets for an Oscar for their production video about Syria
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, proposed to nominate the non-governmental organization “White Helmets” for the Oscar film award, which distributed a fake video on the Internet in which they allegedly provide assistance to victims in Syria.

“The footage shows disguised rescuers bending over the pseudo-injured Syrian. The actors, at the director’s signal, “die off” and the imaginary wounded man begins to scream heart-rendingly. The full version of the video, which demonstrates the preparations of the “rescuers” and the “victim,” is available on the Internet,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the video was filmed by ordinary employees of the BBC television company, which hastened to justify them: supposedly they wanted to “recreate the horrors of Syrian reality” in this way.
“There is no need to recreate horrors. You need to come to Syria and work, like our correspondents, whom you accuse of propaganda, do. We won’t know how many re-enactments were made,” Zakharova said.
She recalled that the White Helmets were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“These people claim to have saved thousands of lives, but they themselves make staged videos and are not shy about posting their creativity on the Internet. This video shows how the White Helmets can easily and casually imitate a tragedy. Based on the skill of the production, they can be nominated, but not for the Nobel Prize, but for the Oscar,” Zakharova said.
