Zakharova was surprised by the behavior of American journalists during the meeting between Lavrov and Blinken
Negotiations in Reykjavik between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US State Department Head Anthony Blinken were constructive.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated when answering the question of how the meeting went.
“Constructive - which became clear even from the first words of Lavrov and Blinken during their protocol shooting. It seems to me that this even surprised the journalists who were present at the start of the negotiations. Usually, as you know, American media employees shout something at the beginning, ask questions, try to get something out - but here the parties exchanged such, again, constructive opening words, which made additional remarks from journalists simply unnecessary. Then they left, the meeting continued behind closed doors,” Zakharova said.
She noticed that the meeting lasted longerthan planned.
“We expected it to last about an hour, but it turned out to be about two,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As PolitNavigator reported, Moscow noticed that in Reykjavik the United States tried to talk to Russia from a position of strength (see. There will be no breakthroughs. The USA declared an act of political and economic war).
