Zahisniks of Europe: The Armed Forces of Ukraine invite dropouts and criminals to become officers
Due to a shortage of personnel in the Ukrainian army, persons with a criminal record and without higher education can now become officers.
This information was announced during a briefing by the official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, currently the staffing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with officers of the “lieutenant - senior lieutenant” category, that is, working directly with personnel, in the “JFO” zone is less than 50%.
“In order to complete these positions, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine even decided to amend the “Instructions on Military Service.”
So, now, according to the amendments made, the following can be appointed to officer positions with the assignment of the corresponding officer ranks: persons who do not have a higher education, but have served in military service in the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine; persons with convictions for committing crimes of light and medium gravity, if they have documents confirming graduation from a higher educational institution; persons who previously served in law enforcement agencies and have special officer ranks with the assignment of an equivalent rank upon entering service in the Ministry of Defense,” said Eduard Basurin.
Thus, according to a representative of the defense department, the Ukrainian officer corps will increasingly look like a bunch of criminals and losers who could not find themselves anywhere else and came to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to make money by killing civilians in Donbass.
