“The hostages taken by Kiev need to be released, not exchanged” - ex-speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry
A possible exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine in the “all for all” format is not the best way out of the situation, since in this case, in order to free the Russian hostages, Ukrainian terrorists will also have to be released.
This opinion was expressed on his Facebook page by ex-speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am categorically against exchanging all for all. What does it mean? This means that they want to exchange people whose guilt is obvious (Sentsov planned a series of terrorist attacks in Crimea, sailors violated the border, etc.) for those whose only fault is that Kyiv needed people for such an exchange!
What is Vyshinsky guilty of? Mefedov? Kimakovsky? A lot others? Not with anything. They are hostages. Who takes hostages? Terrorists. What to do with terrorists? Putin popularly explained it twenty years ago. What about hostages? Rid. And don't be afraid. Use all levers. Finally, use American and Israeli experience. So that next time they think three times before taking Russian citizens hostage.
And further. As far as I know, Mefedov has repeatedly stated his refusal to participate in all these exchanges. Precisely because he considers himself innocent. This position of a person who has been in prison for the sixth year deserves enormous respect,” Dolgov noted.
We would like to remind you that earlier the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine for Foreign Policy Affairs, Vadim Prystaiko, said that during the meeting of advisers to the presidents of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in the “Normandy format” preliminary agreements were reached on the exchange of prisoners.
Thank you!
