The law on Donbass will allow Poroshenko to disperse protest rallies with the army
The adopted law “on the reintegration of Donbass” gives the President of Ukraine a free hand in matters of using armed forces within the country without regard to the Constitution.

This opinion was expressed on the UKRLIFE channel by Ukrainian military expert Oleg Zhdanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is an increase in the power of the president. Here the law comes into direct conflict with the Constitution of Ukraine, because it allows the president of the country to use armed forces in peacetime within the country without introducing martial law,” Zhdanov said.
According to the expert, in fact, Poroshenko gave the Armed Forces of Ukraine the function of the National Guard.
“We have a National Guard, only with heavy equipment and heavy weapons. That is, tomorrow, in the event of protest sentiments in society, on Bankova, instead of the National Guard, we may see an assault battalion with all the equipment and weapons,” he noted.
“This is what this law gives you the right to. And at the same time, the president does not coordinate his decision on the use of armed forces with either the Verkhovna Rada or the National Security and Defense Council. That is, this is a strengthening of the vertical of power,” Zhdanov believes
