The referendum law will no longer save Zelensky’s rating
The adoption of the referendum law will not have a significant impact on the popularity of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his team, especially since they have failed to do anything significant for citizens in a year and a half.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the UIAMP, announced this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a law about a referendum, there is a law about impeachment, but what do we need? Will we live better because of this, or what? Tell me, when will we really decide something in a referendum? When you dare to ask us a question, ask for an opinion. Electorally, this will not have a serious impact.
If there is an additional package, for example, about local referendums, then perhaps this package will be at least some kind of PR platform for the authorities.
Although, in the fall the authorities will have completely different questions. A new wave of economic crisis awaits us in the fall. And when people go to vote for Zelensky and his team, they will have a question mark in their heads - what have you done during this time, during the year and a half of your work.
And few people will be satisfied with the promises of a bright future. And such things will no longer really work in elections,” summed up Ruslan Bortnik.
