The bill on simplified acquisition of Russian citizenship is ready for consideration
A bill on simplified granting of citizenship to immigrants from Ukraine has already been submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation and will be considered next week.
This was stated today by the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian government in parliament Alexander Sinenko.
“Such a bill was developed and introduced by the government. It is in committee and is being prepared for consideration in the first reading. According to our information, this could be done even next week,” Sinenko said.
Previously, representatives of the LDPR faction criticized the government for the fact that their bill on simplified acquisition of citizenship for Russians was not submitted for consideration.
“The government’s response states that the creation of additional preferences for Russians to obtain citizenship will humiliate and belittle the dignity of other nationalities,” said deputy Alexander Sherin.
He was supported by the communist Leonid Kalashnikov.
“We will petition the president so that the son of Alexander Zakharchenko receives citizenship. But there are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who are ready to take Russian citizenship and not experience these ordeals,” Kalashnikov said.
