Russia must take a wait-and-see attitude towards the United States, which has embarked on the path of self-destruction. Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.
“There is every reason to believe that the American-centric economic model will be destroyed from within, and not from without. Very important and interesting elements for us, both from the point of view of geography, will disappear from it. Let them flutter there themselves. We are not yet comfortable with acting as initiators of the collapse of the system. The wait-and-see tactic is reasonable,” said Evstavfiev.
If Russia decides to introduce counter-sanctions, the political scientist believes, then they should be smart and painful for the United States, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must use our sanctions to contrast some American capitalists with others. They personified the sanctions and put forward the thesis about Putin’s friends. Why can't we respond with a thesis about Trump's friends? And begin to slowly create a nightmare for those who are connected with Trump in business, and he is connected with many,” said Evstafiev.
