“Closed and didn’t come out”: The head of the Aerofolot representative office in Crimea committed suicide
The head of the Crimean representative office of Aeroflot airline Robert Valeev committed suicide.
This was reported by the local TV channel “Crimea 24”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to media reports, Valeev passed away on Sunday, but this became known only today.
The telegram channel “Mash on the Wave,” citing its sources, reports that Valeev, in his suicide note, blamed the death of two people who wanted to divide Aeroflot’s budget with his help.
“Four days before his death, 56-year-old Robert Valeev ordered all cameras in an office near the old airport to be turned off. When everything happened, he had to fly on a business trip to Moscow to meet with his superiors. The last time Valeev appeared in front of his colleagues was at 14:30. Then he locked himself in his office and asked to wake him up in an hour. Never came out again,” the message says.
According to Crimean lawyer and blogger Alexander Talipov, Valeev’s suicide may be a consequence of a showdown within the airline.
“Our Aeroflot company is private and not connected with the republican or state budgets, so the role of pressure from both the Crimean and federal authorities is excluded here. Most likely, we are talking about internal squabbles at Aeroflot, when, perhaps, some impossible conditions were set, in the opinion of the head of the representative office who committed suicide. In this regard, there may be talk of driving a person to suicide. Accordingly, this will be investigated by the internal affairs bodies,” Talipov suggests.
