Officials claim that the pollution has several causes - fires in the Chernobyl zone, the neighboring Zhytomyr region, as well as the fire in Goloseevsky Park directly in Kyiv itself.

In addition, this afternoon in the capital, a strong wind raised dust, creating a real storm, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The authorities claim that, despite the renewed fires near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the background radiation in Kyiv is normal.
