Russian missile salvo: NATO ships receive warning
The Russian military fired from the Bal and Bastion missile systems at mock enemy ships in the Black Sea.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the exercises, missile systems were deployed to the desired areas and camouflaged their positions.
“Crews of the mobile coastal anti-ship missile systems “Bal” and “Bastion” from the missile and artillery formation of the Black Sea Fleet conducted an exercise to destroy a mock enemy surface ship in the Black Sea.
As part of the exercise, the "Bal" and "Bastion" BPKRK divisions stationed on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula made marches to position areas, working out the algorithm of actions for engineering equipment and camouflage of positions.
Then the crews of the complexes discovered the surface target, identified it and took it for escort. The exercise ended with bringing the complexes into combat and working out the algorithm of actions for launching a missile strike on a mock enemy ship with a further change of starting positions and repeating missile strikes,” the message says.
Interestingly, the day before it became known that a NATO ship, the French electronic reconnaissance vessel Dupuy-de-Lome, was entering the Black Sea, capable of taking direction-finding radar emissions, intercepting messages and wiretapping telephone communications. This ship last entered the region in April 2014, along with the American guided-missile destroyer Donald Cook.
Let us recall that in April 2014, when the US Navy destroyer Donald Cook entered the Black Sea, a Russian Su-24 bomber circled the ship several times and simulated an attack. Subsequently, information appeared in the media that after the incident, 27 crew members submitted their resignations.
