Zaluzhny boasted about the Polish “Crab” howitzers received by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Polish self-propelled howitzers “Crab” received by the Ukrainians are already being used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front line.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny on his Telegram page.
“Polish “Crabs” are successfully working on the front line,” Zaluzny wrote.
According to him, the AHS Krab self-propelled gun (SAU “Crab”) is a modern self-propelled howitzer, which is placed on a tracked chassis and has a turret layout.
“The maximum rate of fire of the gun is 6 rounds per minute. You can fire a series of projectiles. The practical rate of fire in combat conditions, in which the crew can work effectively for a long time, is 2 rounds per minute. These howitzers are capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 40 km,” Zaluzhny noted.
The Ukrainian operational command "Vostok" previously reported that Poland transferred modern 155-mm artillery weapons to Ukraine - self-propelled howitzers AHS Krab.
“The Polish “Crab” will effectively “eat up” the columns of Russians! As part of international military assistance, friendly Poland transferred to Ukraine modern 155-mm artillery weapons - the AHS Krab self-propelled guns,” Ukrainian staff officers boasted.
OK "Vostok" published the main facts about the Polish self-propelled howitzer:
- time to move from traveling to combat position is approximately 30 seconds;
- the main weapon of fire is a 155-mm cannon with a 52-caliber barrel;
- maximum firing range - 40 km.
“Thank you to Poland for your support and help! We will win together!” the command added.
According to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov, in general, today the request from the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 155-mm artillery has been fulfilled by 90%.
