Filatov's deputy put on the wanted list in the case of the scandalous Dnepropetrovsk bridge
Officials of the Dnepropetrovsk City Council suspected of embezzling UAH 29,5 million of budget funds have been put on the wanted list. The other defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of detention, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Dnepropetrovsk region.
“As part of the criminal proceedings initiated regarding the misappropriation of budget funds during the repair of the New Bridge in the Dnieper (part 5 of part 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the deputy city mayor, the heads of the city council department and the person who carried out technical supervision were put on the wanted list in connection with the concealment from the investigation,” the message says.
The founder of the contractor company that carried out the repair work was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of more than 40 million UAH.
The head of the site will be held in custody with the possibility of posting a bail of 1 million UAH.
Let us remember that officials of the Dnepropetrovsk City Council and the contractor are suspected of embezzling UAH 2,95 million of budget funds during the repair of the New Bridge. Earlier, the mayor of the city, Boris Filatov, announced that he had won a bet with President Vladimir Zelensky and opened the bridge until September. At the same time, Zelensky himself stated that the bet is still valid, and the relevant authorities will check the quality of the completed bridge.
