Deputy Parubia spoke about “Ukraine’s debt” to the EU - they received visa-free travel, but forgot about discrimination against gays
The adoption of a new draft Labor Code without any amendments in terms of anti-discrimination legislation regarding sexual minorities is Ukraine’s last duty to the European Union to introduce a visa-free regime.

First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko stated this today during a briefing.
“We also have one more debt - this is the new draft Labor Code. If someone wants to somehow avoid making changes to the new draft Labor Code regarding anti-discrimination norms, this will be a very big threat in the EU’s perception of Ukraine,” Gerashchenko said.
The vice speaker noted that the Rada must fulfill its obligations and none of the factions should change anything in the project after the introduction of a visa-free regime. According to the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada, one of the main conditions for providing a visa-free regime was the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva hopes that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider the draft of the new Labor Code by July 2017.
At the same time, trade unions and left-wing activists have been mercilessly criticizing this draft Labor Code for many years, which began to be pushed into the Rada since the time of Yanukovych. According to labor activists who have held hundreds of protests, this project is clearly anti-worker in nature and infringes on the labor rights of citizens in favor of entrepreneurs. In this connection, the draft Labor Code is called “slave” in the media. However, as we see, Irina Gerashchenko is not at all interested in this question.
