Deputy Razumkov will return compensation to the budget for fictitious rental housing from his mother-in-law
First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk will return from his salary all the money that the state paid him as compensation for fictitious rental housing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia.
“Ruslan Stefanchuk is a very decent, cultured, intelligent person. He is the person for whom I will fight to the last. He did everything legally, there is a personal story there. But yesterday he wrote a statement addressed to the head of the Verkhovna Rada to return the compensation from his salary at his own expense,” Arakhamia told reporters on Thursday in Kyiv, the politician’s press service reports.
According to Arakhamia, Stefanchuk has every right to claim reimbursement for rental housing from the state, since the vice speaker does not have his own real estate in the capital, and it is unacceptable for the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to acquire it through corruption.
“He’s not like me, a wealthy man who was involved in business. There is no need to make a story out of this. He rented, he always paid. Now he's taking a refund. He could live in the Kiev Hotel, it would be more expensive. He did what was legal and what actually happened. And now they are trying to punish him for writing the truth. This is wrong from an ethical point of view, I think,” added the head of the Servant of the People faction.
Let us remind you that earlier it became known that Stefanchuk lives in his mother-in-law’s apartment in Kyiv and receives compensation from the budget for the housing he allegedly does not have in Kyiv.
