A replacement for sex scandalist Yaremenko will be sought in the primaries
The Servant of the People faction plans to hold primaries to elect a new head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation to replace Bohdan Yaremenko, who was fired due to a sex scandal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, Alexander Kornienko.
“Yesterday at the faction meeting it was decided that Mr. Yaremenko would hand over the powers of the head of the committee. Now the faction needs to decide on the next head of the Foreign Affairs Committee. We will decide - to conduct something like a primary, we have several candidates,” Kornienko noted.
According to him, the faction plans to make a comprehensive resolution, which will include the dismissal of Yaremenko, the appointment of a new head of the committee, as well as the inclusion of the remaining parliamentarians who are not members of the committees (there are already more than 10 of them) in the committees.
At the same time, he also named candidates for the position of head of the committee - Elizaveta Yasko, Galina Mikhailyuk, Alexander Merezhko, Svyatoslav Yurash - all from Servant of the People.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday, November 15, will vote on the dismissal of Bohdan Yaremenko from the post of head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation. Yaremenko became involved in a loud scandal after parliamentary paparazzi published photographs showing that he was corresponding with a prostitute right in the parliamentary hall, discussing the price of her services.
