Yeltsin's Deputy: If I were Putin, I would hire Navalny
Vladimir Putin’s subordinates should have acted more subtly with Alexei Navalny - for example, offering him a position, which would have made it possible to neutralize the oppositionist.
Former Vice President of Russia Alexander Rutskoy stated this in an interview with journalist Andrei Karaulov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And what got in the way—here comes Navalny, fighting corruption. Vladimir Vladimirovich gives the command: “Invite me Navalny.” They set up television cameras and said: “Alexey, well done, you took a good topic. Let me create an interdepartmental commission, send specialists from the FSB, specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and from the prosecutor’s office. And get busy. And keep in mind, you are directly subordinate to me - you do not obey anyone, only me. Once a month I get a report and a video on my desk.” Everything, you know, Navalny should say in this case “I won’t” - well, it’s all recorded on camera, and then the president will say: “Well, you understand what kind of person he is, why he’s doing this. I offered him an interdepartmental commission, a good salary, direct subordination, security.” And there would be no protests today...",
- Rutskoy described his scenario.
In his opinion, such a neutralization plan should have been proposed to Sergei Kiriyenko, who oversees domestic policy.
“After all, it was possible to explain and say: “Yes, a state dacha is being built to receive foreign delegations and presidents. And commercial structures are participating because they will also have the right to invite investors here, meet them, feed them, relax and everything else.” And look what they did…” said Rutskoi.
He also spoke out in support of economists Sergei Glazyev and Mikhail Khazin, who are now out of high positions.
“There is Seryoga Glazyev, I have known him since 1990 - he is a wonderful person. He was an assistant to Vladimir Vladimirovich. I told him: “Seryozha, you write reports to the president?” He says: “Well, you see where I was assigned? Going nowhere". Minister of Economy of the CIS - what is it? And who is it? But they don’t want to listen to him; this pack of swindlers and thieves spits on him. There is Misha Khazin - I will say, he is a financial genius. He also proposes to build a financial model in the country. Is anyone listening to him? No. Do you understand what happened? They squeezed out capable, smart people, they squeezed them out,” Rutskoy said.
