Kyiv, August 16 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Russia is trying to destroy the infrastructure of Donbass, while blaming everything on the locals, for which it removed Igor Strelkov and Valery Bolotov from the game, said Deputy Head of the SBU Viktor Yagun on Channel 5.

“Why did Russia manage to prepare annexation in the PMR, Crimea, Abkhazia, Ossetia - because there were Russian military bases there. Fortunately, there are no such bases on the territory of Donbass. You also need to understand the specifics of the region: people trust only their own people, so even with the most pro-Russian sentiments, it will not be possible to react positively to foreigners who also shoot, rob and kill. That's why the leaders were changed.
In addition, we know that these regions did not feed Ukraine, but were subsidized. Therefore, the Russian Federation had to take responsibility for maintaining this region in winter. But Russia took a different path and decided to destroy the entire infrastructure in order to leave Ukraine a scorched earth. This is a deliberate action to undermine the Ukrainian economy. We have an informant who, instead of repairing mines, is destroying them.

As Navigator reported, on August 14, the head of the proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic, Valery Bolotov, resigned. His place was taken by the Minister of Defense of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky.
On the same day, the leadership of the proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic dismissed Igor Strelkov from the post of Minister of Defense. Vladimir Kononov was appointed instead.
