Ilmi Umerov, the deputy head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, who was recently pardoned by the President of the Russian Federation, stated this in an interview with the Kiev magazine “New Time”, answering the question of what has changed after the peninsula became part of Russia, and how Crimea lives now.
“In Crimea, there are two parallel worlds - Crimean Tatar and Russian. Russians begin to become disillusioned with the rules brought by the Russian authorities. But it’s still too early to say that they are starting to miss Ukraine and are ready to act against Russia under some circumstances,” Umerov regrets.
