Vice Speaker Syroed stated this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Conciliation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia was, is and will be an eternal neighbor and eternal enemy of Ukraine. Russia is a predator with which it will never be possible to come to an agreement, just as a buffalo can never come to an agreement with a hyena. From a predator you always need to defend yourself.
The President of Russia recently stated that the issue of Ukraine for Russia is not even a matter of foreign policy, but a matter of domestic policy, which in fact is a direct declaration of war. If there were few facts before, then at least this speech is quite indicative,” said the vice speaker.
She also believes that the Verkhovna Rada should have taken steps long ago to declare martial law and sever diplomatic relations with Russia.
“But instead, we are offered only hybrid solutions. There are no hybrid wars, all wars are the same, from the beginning of the world all wars are hybrid, they have both military and non-military components. But, unfortunately, there are hybrid solutions that avoid liability. And the bill proposed tomorrow for the second reading is nothing more than a hybrid solution that is directed against Ukraine. What are they offering us? In fact, we are offered to restore trade with the occupied territories, and trade under the auspices of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will destroy the morale of the soldiers.
In addition, an unconstitutional ghetto will be created, which will be called a security zone. And in accordance with this law, the war will no longer be called a war, but measures to ensure national security,” said Syroed.
