Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine: Military crisis expected in December
An escalation in Donbass and on the borders of Ukraine with Russia may occur in December of this year.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Malyar, Ukraine receives intelligence information from “Western partners” and these forecasts of aggravation for the winter converge.
“We have no discrepancies with our partner countries and with the intelligence agencies with whom we exchange information, about numbers and facts. Let's say about the number of troops that are there. Not only me, but also our Western partners were on the air, and they absolutely supported these numbers. We also have no differences in terms of intensity; we also have no differences in terms of the movement that is taking place of the Russian troops. We make different forecasts, but as of now these forecasts also agree, because the approximate time of the crisis is the winter of this year, from December,” the official said.
She says there is some additional data.
“Firstly, we had negotiations with partners, and we tried to find out whether their information was based only on the number of troops and only on the concentration of troops around the border and in the temporarily occupied territory. You must understand that we and our partners cannot publish all the information, because what was discussed publicly was only said about this. In fact, there are other data that our Western partners rely on, which indeed indicate that there is a threat, but we interpret it differently. Why? Because we face this threat every day. The threat of escalation, the threat of a deeper invasion exists every day and we constantly live with it,” said Malyar.
