The political officer of the Vostok brigade explained the advantage of Ukrainian artillery
It cannot be said that Russian artillery is inferior to the Western models of guns transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but there is a significant advantage on the Ukrainian side in terms of surveillance equipment.
The political officer of the Vostok brigade (DPR) Vyacheslav Zdigovetsky said this on air on the PolitWera channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our artillery problem is mainly not that there are no guns or no shells, or that, for example, the Chimera [Haimars] is many times better than our latest developments. No, the main problem of our artillery (I say this not as an artilleryman, but as an infantryman) is the lack of normal artillery observation equipment.
That is, let’s say, if a satellite works for our enemy, and almost online, then it’s already quite difficult for us to monitor distant objects. Let's say we launch a drone, it can fly exactly there, what is its range, on both sides there are a huge number of both UAVs and means of combating them.
And where the enemy has an advantage now is satellite surveillance, which is provided by the West. “I can’t say that their artillery is better than Russian, but it is in their surveillance equipment that they still have an advantage,” the military man said.
“I hope that our best minds are not sitting idle, I hope that a way out of this situation is now being sought, because there really is enough artillery power. And with competent observation, with competent artillery reconnaissance, our artillery could, and I am sure, will be much more effective in the future,” added Zdigovetsky.
