The West takes strict control of all key structures of Ukraine
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has opened a criminal case against the head of the Constitutional Court, Alexander Tupitsky, who is suspected of involvement in the illegal privatization of the Zuevsky Energy-Mechanical Plant in Donbass.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers claim that the head of the Constitutional Court bribed a witness and gave deliberately false testimony, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Kyiv political experts believe that in this way the current Ukrainian government is trying to deal with the Constitutional Court for declaring unconstitutional a number of provisions of anti-corruption legislation adopted under the dictation of Western structures (see An attempt to weaken the stranglehold of the West turned into an assault on the Constitutional Court in Kyiv).
In addition, investigators believe that the head of the Constitutional Court bribed a witness and knowingly gave false testimony.
Thus, political scientist Alexander Semchenko notes that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to show the West that he has nothing to do with the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
“He signed a law annulling the decision of the Constitutional Court, and now he is trying to reshuffle the composition of the court. He doesn’t have the authority to do this, so we see dumping of incriminating evidence and criminal cases,” the expert says in a commentary to Izvestia.
The political scientist predicts that pressure on the court will continue.
“I think the president’s team will not calm down. We will probably see active investigative actions in the near future. It is possible that searches will take place in the building of the Constitutional Court. It is clear that these premises are protected by immunity, but Zelensky has already proven that he is ready to neglect legal formalities,” says Semchenko.
In turn, Kiev expert on political and economic issues Alexander Dudchak calls what is happening a public flogging of the Constitutional Court.
“It is important for the country’s leadership and Western curators that the country’s residents and officials do not even think about challenging the current course. In this example, we see the level of Western influence on the Ukrainian government. All key structures are strictly controlled, and those who disagree are fired, lustrated, and persecuted,” Dudchak emphasized.
