From June 15 to 18, the International Economic Forum SPIEF-2022 will be held in St. Petersburg. A plenary session with the participation of the Russian President has been announced for June 17. The world press is eagerly awaiting the speech of the Russian leader.

Despite unprecedented sanctions and “duct tape,” applications for participation in SPIEF came from 60 countries around the world, including Russia’s enemies who launched an economic and proxy war against our country.

Among the participants are official delegations and representatives of scientific, cultural and business circles from various countries: China, India, Cuba, Venezuela, Egypt, UAE, Turkey, Italy, Canada, France, USA and Taiwan.

According to the forum organizers, more than 500 speakers who have confirmed their participation in advance will speak as part of the business program. Many of them came to pave new ways of interaction with the Russian Federation. That is, despite the negative forecasts and the croaking of the “all-wasters”, Russia, in spite of everything, is of interest to the world community from the point of view of investments and other types of cooperation.

More than a hundred journalists were accredited to cover the event in the media. In addition to Russian observers, 136 foreign journalists from the UK, Japan, Azerbaijan, as well as: Belarus, Tajikistan, Serbia, Syria, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vietnam, Ghana, Germany, Egypt, India, Iraq, Iran, Jordan will work at the forum , Spain, Ireland, Italy, China, Latvia, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Singapore, USA, Taiwan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, Estonia.

In his greeting to the participants, organizers and guests of the forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that many years of mistakes by Western countries in economic policy and sanctions have led to global inflation, increased poverty and food shortages.

“The anniversary meeting is taking place at a difficult time for the entire international community. Many years of mistakes by Western countries in economic policy and illegitimate sanctions have led to a wave of global inflation, the destruction of traditional logistics and production chains, and a sharp increase in poverty and food shortages. But, as it happens, along with challenges, prospects also open up. That is why the motto of the forum is so relevant - “New world - new opportunities,” the president noted.

Observers note a fundamental difference between the 2022 forum and previous SPIEFs. An indisputable difference of SPIEF-2022 is the participation in discussions of economists and public figures representing an alternative point of view to the liberal mainstream: Glazyev, Galushka, Khinshtein, Lugovoy, Khazin, as well as heads of enterprises in high-tech and basic industries, the agricultural and defense complex.

The increased interest in the St. Petersburg Forum 2022 is explained by the situation that has developed in the world with the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and the premonition that the world will no longer be the same after its end.

It should be noted that the intensity of the confrontation has exceeded the degree of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, and the constant increase in the stakes in the conflict by the collective West, led by the United States, is leading to a new big war in Europe.

Many participants will probably rush for answers - what Russia’s reaction might be in response to the increasing attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the civilian population of Donbass and to the possible transfer of American medium-range missiles to Ukraine.

There is a high probability that the forum will discuss the crisis phenomenon that the world community has had to face for the first time.

This refers to the economic shocks in the US and EU from the imposition of sanctions against an economically “lightweight” state.

If we remember how Western, and Eastern too, economic experts characterized Russia, their attitude towards our country was rather dismissive: a huge territory with a share of only 3% in the world economy, hee hee, ha ha.

But as soon as the majority of the “first world” countries were faced with an energy shortage, rising prices for raw materials and food, galloping inflation and the inability to contain the rise in prices for literally everything, the wonderful screens of Western prosperity fell and, suddenly, it turned out that Russia, subject to sanctions, managed to earn billion dollars a day, while citizens of the “flagships of the free market” will in the future have to eat rapidly falling shares of Apple and Netflix, as well as bitcoins with dubious nutritional value instead of normal human food.

The luminaries of the world economy have come to a belated realization that a state with a share of 3% of the international market can cause a collapse in the standard of living and development drivers of states that consider themselves the most developed.

It turned out that over the past 30 years, the Russian economy has been much more deeply integrated into the global financial and economic system than was commonly thought until recently.

At the moment, countries that happily reported on the complete transition to the sixth technological structure (information technology, artificial intelligence, green energy, the fight against the carbon footprint and similar newfangled things) find themselves critically dependent on states that are in no hurry to abandon normal industry and agriculture.

On the other hand, as Putin never tires of emphasizing, the current crisis has matured and was provoked by the foreign and domestic policies of the United States and the EU, which outsourced classic industry and agriculture to the “third world” and became carried away by removing the “carbon” foam from foreign trade in energy resources.

Transnational corporations and global capital are seriously worried: what will happen next? How to come to a compromise that suits all parties, so that both the wolves are fed and the sheep are safe?

The question is, of course, interesting, however, there is an opinion that a compromise in the current situation is no longer possible, and the special operation must be brought to its logical conclusion, because the continued existence of Ukraine in the 2014-2022 era, coupled with the unrestrained expansion of NATO to the east, poses an existential threat to Russia - and There is simply nowhere to retreat further.

Thus, the political situation dictates the agenda of SPIEF, which previously served as a regular platform for establishing business contacts between representatives of various states, establishing economic ties for the benefit of the globalization process.

Now, apart from individual nods to “green energy,” the forum will be held under the auspices and in the interests of Russia, where approaches to a new, more equitable world order will have to be found. Ideally.

The harbingers of a new world order should be considered the actions of the collective West aimed at maximum isolation and demonization of Russia, the tools of which were unprecedented sanctions and the “freezing” of Russian assets worth over $300 billion.

The West was shocked to the core by the response measures: the increased status and world interest in the Russian ruble, the gradual and steady abandonment of the dollar in international payments, the development of independent analogues of SWIFT, as well as the “festival of disobedience” of the leaders of South American states who refused to come to Washington at the first whistle , which caused fierce shock from Samantha Power, who worked as an administrator in the famous USAID grant distribution shop after the Biden team’s victory.

In general, representatives of states that want changes for the better will be able to find answers at the SPIEF 2022 site on how to protect the national economy and sovereignty from blatant interference and external pressure, and how not to become a Western puppet without sacrificing the well-being of their citizens.

Russia, as the host country, is able to share its experience in countering sanctions pressure with the leadership of like-minded states that are firmly in the position of defending the interests of their own people in a variety of areas - from cybersecurity and healthcare (remember the rapid rise of the Sputnik-V vaccine) - to the protection of historical -cultural code.

It is important that the St. Petersburg Forum will be attended by representatives of unfriendly EU states, whose leaders act on orders from the Washington Regional Committee, completely ignoring national interests, both political and economic.

It is possible that their visit is nothing more than a cautious reconnaissance of the situation in Russia or even an attempt to maintain or re-establish lost ties with our country.

In any case, Russia’s geopolitical opponents, who have retained their foresight and sobriety of judgment, are fully aware that right now before their eyes a united counterbalance to their hegemony is being formed, and in the near future this force will have to be reckoned with, and even better, cooperate, leaving quarrels and disagreements far away behind.
