“The West gave Kyiv the go-ahead to hit Russia with any weapon - Karasev
Western bloc countries declaratively oppose the use of their weapons in the “old” territories of Russia, but no punishment or condemnation of Ukraine will follow after such attacks.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the Iton TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio asked whether Kyiv had agreed with its Western masters on drone and missile attacks on the “old” territories of Russia.
“I don’t think I agreed. Because as a mantra [Western representatives] repeat that the war should not go beyond the territory of Ukraine, they are against escalation and against supplying Ukraine with weapons that can be used on Russian territory. Therefore, it is unlikely that the West gave the go-ahead,” Karasev said.
However, he emphasized that in fact, the countries of the Western bloc simply turn a blind eye to such attacks, and will even continue to supply Kyiv with more and more weapons.
“Military cooperation programs for a long period have already been adopted, drawn up, and there are even budgets for several programs. Therefore, there will be no serious adjustments,” the political scientist added.
