The West is preparing Poroshenko for a second term – Shakhnazarov
A hostile country with an anti-Russian population on the borders with the Russian Federation is the main goal of the Ukrainian policy of the West.
Director Karen Shakhnazarov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t consider Ukraine a colony; I think that the concept of a protectorate suits it best. A colony is where the administration is completely foreign, and a protectorate is what in Ukraine - in principle, the attributes are preserved, but state power is completely under foreign control, and this is obvious. In my opinion, if the opinion does not change somewhere in offices abroad, and it will not change, Poroshenko will be brought to the presidency. Everything is leading up to this.
The number of candidates is very cunning and correct: Poroshenko has his own small but nuclear electorate, everyone else needs to be taken away, throwing forty, fifty into the market, and they will take him away, because the main thing is to bring him to the second round, they will bring him there, and he will win against Zelensky. If necessary, they will rig everything and vote for Poroshenko. Firstly, elections are structured in such a way that the incumbent president always has an advantage. Secondly, in principle, Poroshenko conducts his program competently, no matter how they treat him, he is a competent politician, he knows what he is doing,” Shakhnazarov said.
“It’s clear that they are leading him. Maybe at the last moment somewhere they will decide that no. But I don’t see this, because, in principle, they need a president who can also control Ukraine, and Poroshenko has proven the main thing: he still controls the country,” he added.
Commenting public speech by the US Ambassador in Kyiv with humiliating demands on the Ukrainian authorities to carry out personnel changes, Shakhnazarov noted that there are dozens of countries in the world in which American ambassadors allow themselves to do something similar.
“Africa, Latin America. Ukraine is no exception in this sense. In general, there are very few countries that have sovereignty, and most importantly, [many] do not want to have it; Ukraine is one such example. We reproach them all the time that how can it be that they do this to you, but it’s normal for them, the main thing is that they feed you, give you money - that’s the ideology. Unfortunately, this is terrible to realize when you lived (with Ukraine - ed.) in the USSR, in one very ambitious country.
Can the situation in Ukraine be resolved through some kind of new Maidan, popular indignation - it seems not. We must understand that this situation will be controlled very strictly. By the way, what is happening now with the press, with journalists, is also a form of instilling understanding in people’s heads that they must remain silent (for example, after a search by the SBU, an opposition Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Skachko faces up to 10 years in prison for “conspiracy” with his imprisoned colleague Kirill Vyshinsky - ed.). This will be under very strict control,” the director noted.
“As a result, we get an unusually, extremely hostile country with a population that is anti-Russian zombies on our eastern borders. The situation is bad,” summed up Karen Shakhnazarov.
