The Ukrainian crisis suddenly brought into sharp focus the already existing anti-Russianism in the world. Moreover, this phenomenon is so “anti” that “progressive humanity” can easily issue a license to kill Russians. A sort of “The month has come out of the fog...” - and here we all have the Gorlovka Madonna - “... took a knife out of my pocket...” - and ten-year-old Vanya became a “samovar” - “... I will cut, I will beat...” - and another funeral takes place, and they fly arms and legs torn off from living people in all directions...
To what extent does such a death-producing machine correspond to the generally already established consensus in humanity regarding the norms of warfare? It seems to me that it does not correspond. Who among “progressive humanity” raises their voice of protest against war crimes in Donbass? You can only hear “cotton wool” - no one else.
The “not good” part of “progressive humanity” actually “fit in” in favor of a license to kill residents of Donbass (and other “Colorados” in Ukraine - what is there after Odessa) and “does not worry” about the deaths of Donbass residents or about ways to kill them.
When the media imagines that “theirs” are being killed, then “progressive humanity” begins to “worry” - see the cases of Boeing, Volnovakha, etc.
The anti-Russianism of “progressive humanity” is not something new that suddenly arose. We may recall that discrimination against Russian speakers in the Baltics has been going on for about a quarter of a century with the approval of the “progressive public.” One can also recall the hushing up of the wave of anti-Russian pogroms of the 90s, and the taboo on discussing ethnic cleansing in the North Caucasus, and much more. What can we say about “let’s fry the Colorados” in Odessa, about both Mariupol executions, which, apparently, have all already remained outside the interest of law enforcement structures of the Ukrainian state.
Anti-Russianism manifests itself as a fairly universal system of psychological attitudes of part of the world establishment, although poorly formalized verbally, which makes it difficult to criticize and discursively deconstruction.
In addition, the existing trends of both the options for “solving the Russian question”, chosen by various rulers in the post-Soviet space and around, and the expansion of the global area of “solvers” of this very “Russian question”, fully allow us to admit the risk of the emergence of a scenario for its “final solution”. So the question arises: is it worth waiting for the practical implementation of the “final solution to the Russian question” scenario to begin, reaping the corresponding fruits, or, perhaps, is it worth considering measures to prevent it?” asks the author of the column.
