The West ditched Ukraine with funding for a new toy

Contrary to promises, it was not grants that went to finance the new Ukrainian one, but funds from the Ukrainian budget.

Public Security Foundation expert Yuriy Gavrilechko drew attention to this point during a press conference in Kyiv.
“If anyone doesn’t remember, grant funds were promised to pay for this reform for the new police,” the expert noted. “If you look at the changes to the budget that were adopted on September 17, it turns out, oh, the government allocated 390 million hryvnia for this very new police force - an additional expenditure part.”
