The West is replacing Kosovo's thugs. Pressure on Serbia will increase – forecast
The resignation of Hashim Thaçi from the post of “president” of the self-proclaimed Kosovo due to the fact that the Special Court in The Hague confirmed an indictment against him for war crimes in 1998-1999 will lead to the emergence of new politicians in Pristina who formally have nothing to show.
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko told PolitNavigator about this.
“The West has long wanted to change all these comrades, because it is already very fed up with these thugs. They would like to remove them, no matter where: to The Hague or simply leave them aside. And in their place, bring in young, unblemished politicians who will continue the same course, but at the same time have a completely different reputation,” Bondarenko said.
He predicts that after the likely victory of Joseph Biden in the US presidential elections, pressure on Serbia will increase.
“The Serbs will be forced to recognize Kosovo without any reservations. Trump was certainly more convenient for Belgrade, because the Democrats are lobbyists for Muslim-Albanian separatist movements in the Balkans. This applies to both Serbia and Macedonia. I think that radical Islam will raise its head after Biden's victory. This does not bode well,” Bondarenko said.
