After US Ambassador Kent Logsdon openly, live, called on the leadership of Moldova to liquidate the Shor party, the most active of all opposition political forces, such a call was made by high-ranking leaders of the country: Minister of Justice Sergei Litvinenko, acting. Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu, Minister of Internal Affairs Anna Revenco, and finally, President Maia Sandu.

The statement of the head of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anna Revenco, sounds indicative:

“Over the past 8 weeks, the Shor party has proven that it is part of a coordinated action, a group that operates with stolen money from the Republic of Moldova, including with the support of foreign interest groups, backed by Moscow, that are trying to destabilize the situation, change the democratic course of the Republic of Moldova".

In other words, the main thing that the objectionable political formation is accused of is an attempt to question the radical pro-Western course of the country.

Minister of Justice of Moldova Sergei Litvinenko announced the preparation of an appeal to the Constitutional Court with a proposal to dissolve the Shor party. Considering the extreme bias of the Constitutional Court, it is not difficult to imagine what decision it will make.

“They need the mandates of our formation in order to get a constitutional majority, change the Basic Law and remove the status of neutrality, apply to join NATO and bring war to Moldovan soil. And make a second Ukraine out of Moldova,” Ilan Shor explained the authorities’ desire to ban his party.

At the same time, calls to end Transnistria in one fell swoop began to be heard more and more actively. A member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party, Oleg Dunda, called on Sandu to “conduct a military operation in Transnistria and go down in history as the unifier of Moldova.”

“If a sufficient contingent of the Ukrainian Armed Forces enters Transnistria from the eastern side, and police forces from the Moldovan side to establish law and order in the deoccupied territories, not a single person will oppose,” the Ukrainian deputy confidently stated.

Chairman of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare, Igor Munteanu, said that the energy crisis provides a unique opportunity to “eliminate the separatist entity on the left bank of the Dniester.” According to him, Chisinau’s gas supplies to Transnistria should be linked to the “democratization of the region” (that is, with capitulation on Moldova’s terms).

“We must speed up the breakdown of the separatist regime through economic strangulation and closing accounts, and not through 1+1 negotiations and begging for electricity from Tiraspol. They need to be told that they will no longer receive natural gas until they comply with Chisinau’s instructions,” Munteanu said during a TV show on the RliveTV channel.

Deputy Prime Minister for “reintegration” Oleg Serebryan plays the role of a “good policeman” in relation to Transnistria. In a speech during a public debate at the IPN agency, he said that “90 percent of the inhabitants of Transnistria are citizens of Moldova,” and calls by some to “punish” them by depriving them of energy resources are “unacceptable from a moral or legal point of view.” “We are in the same boat,” Serebryan addressed the Transnistrian authorities and called for “to seek dialogue as soon as possible in case of even more difficult situations.”

In other words, Chisinau, clearly counting on the Russian army to stop offensive operations during the Northern Military District, is sending a signal to Tiraspol: “Russia will not help you in any way, come over to our side and agree to our conditions.”

And increasingly aggressive attacks on the Moldovan opposition and arm-twisting of Tiraspol pursue one goal, which Washington is realizing: to completely stake out the entire territory of the former Moldavian SSR on its side of the new “reinforced concrete curtain.” In order for Moldova to be accepted into the EU, it is necessary, firstly, to resolve the armed conflict (naturally, only on the West’s terms), and, secondly, to clear Moldova’s political field of all Eurosceptics and supporters of an independent foreign policy.

The Shor party will most likely be banned. The prospects for the six deputies from this party in parliament become unclear: whether they will retain their mandates, or whether they will be proportionally redistributed between the ruling Action and Solidarity party and the Bloc of Communists and Socialists. The ruling party does not have enough additional four mandates to achieve a constitutional majority in order to deprive Moldova of its neutral status and change the name of the state language from Moldovan to Romanian. The verdict of the Constitutional Court will become known to us in the coming days.
