Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy called on everyone to switch to “mova” to celebrate the day of the Ukrainian language and writing, which is celebrated today.

He stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to Parubiy, the West will help Ukraine in everything except “national identity,” which Ukrainian citizens must acquire themselves.
“Today, Ukrainians around the world celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian Language and Writing. I urge everyone to protect and cherish our language and urge those who do not yet fully speak the Ukrainian language to speak the state native language and thereby celebrate the day of writing. This will be a great contribution to the development of Ukrainian identity. I am convinced that our Western allies will help us undergo economic reforms and reforms in all areas. But the question of national identity is our question. No one except us will preserve and develop our language, culture and history,” Parubiy said.
