The West is determined to continue the conflict in Donbass
The conflict in Donbass is a platform on which global players are sorting things out among themselves.
Advisor to the President of the LPR Rodion Miroshnik said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, when answering the question whether the conflict in Donbass remains hot or whether the temperature is dropping.
“The conflict between Kiev and Donbass is multi-layered. This is a platform where relations between geopolitical players are clarified: the USA, the European Union and the Russian Federation. But the conflict could not have flared up without those forces within Ukraine that sought power in 2014. They needed to break the existing order and climb to the top of the Ukrainian Olympus - even if it turns into ruins. And in Donbass, people did not want to abandon the Russian language and become heroes of Bandera and other Nazi criminals,” Miroshnik said.
In his opinion, the preconditions for conflict remain.
“The West needs a zone antagonistic to the Russian world. And the mentality of Donbass is different from central or western Ukraine. After all, a hundred years ago there was already a Donbass Krivoy Rog Republic. This territory has always gravitated towards the Russian Federation; it was artificially introduced into the body of Ukraine after the 1917 revolution. Therefore, the causes of the conflict remain,” summed up the adviser to the head of the LPR.
