The West will not allow Ukraine to attack Donbass during the 2018 World Cup
Holding the World Cup in Russia will not prevent Moscow from responding adequately in the event of an attack by Ukraine on the Donbass republics.
Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries, political scientist Igor Shishkin stated this on the air of the “Process” program on the “Zvezda” TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that the Kiev regime will not be satisfied with a big provocation. Not because he is peace-loving, but because he will not be allowed to. If they didn’t commit a major military provocation before the presidential elections, then they couldn’t. And now if we organize it during the World Cup, then everyone will understand perfectly well who is to blame - that’s the first thing. Secondly, to think that Russia, in order for everything to go well here, will capitulate and surrender Donbass in the event of an attack on it is simply ridiculous, it is absolutely unrealistic. Therefore, the West will not benefit from this provocation; there will be harm,” the political scientist believes.
“Therefore, I think that there will be, as now, a low-intensity conflict. Several people will be killed every day, which is what the Kiev regime is doing. Two or three people are killed almost every day in Donbass,” added Igor Shishkin.
