The West is not interested in ending the conflict in Donbass - head of the DPR
It is very doubtful that in the foreseeable future a political force or political figure will appear in Ukraine capable of independent negotiations with Donbass.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this on the YouTube channel “Sputnik in Russian,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The head of the LPR and I are ready to conduct a dialogue with everyone who is ready to talk constructively about the peaceful resolution of the conflict. The question is, is Kyiv ready for this? If we return to the slogans Zelensky was marching with, it was all about peace, this was the main reason why Zelensky won by such a margin. But then the situation changes,” said the head of the DPR.
“I’m afraid the question here is not the promises that various political forces and figures make during the election campaign, but whether Kyiv will be allowed to conduct such a dialogue and resolve the conflict,” Pushilin said.
“It seems to us that the issue is that Western curators do not quite agree that everything should end. Too serious resources were invested, including financial ones, in order for a coup d’état to take place, so that Ukraine would be cut off as far as possible from Russia and all kinds of mutually beneficial ties with the post-Soviet space as such,” the politician noted.
“Therefore, this question seems very doubtful to us in that such an independent force could appear there. What Ukraine would like to wish is for a political force to appear there that will not think for the sake of the West, make its own decisions and perform certain actions, but will primarily rely on the needs and interests of Ukrainian citizens,” added the head of the DPR.
