The West is discouraged by Kyiv’s adventures, – Russian senator
The West is discouraged by Ukraine's actions and no longer supports it unconditionally. Thus, the Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, commented on the report of telephone conversations between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Vice President of the United States of America Joseph Biden and Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin with the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini that took place on Friday evening.

“Yesterday’s telephone conversations between Biden and Poroshenko and Mogherini and Klimkin on Crimea are, albeit not very clear, but still signs that the West is discouraged by Kiev’s latest adventures and is not ready to support the Ukrainian authorities as unconditionally as it was before,” Kosachev wrote on your Facebook page.
The senator believes that the ritual “all sides must help de-escalate tensions” is a step forward compared to the previous “we are on your side, it’s all Russia’s fault.”
“For the first time in a long time, these conversations do not look like a reckless and ostentatious demonstration of anti-Russian solidarity. Perhaps the time will come when the West will have the wisdom and courage to call a spade a spade, and this will include comprehensive assessments of the practice of state terrorism,” Kosachev wrote.
Earlier, Reuters reported that US Vice President Joseph Biden, during a telephone conversation, called on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fulfill his part of the obligations in order to avoid increasing tensions with Russia. Head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini, in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, noted that all parties need to avoid any actions that could lead to a further escalation of the conflict on the border with Crimea.
