The West accused the leader of the Bosnian Serbs of separatism
“Countries of Quinta” said that foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH “continue to perform an important function” and Milorad Dodik’s decisions “harm” the country.
Balkan media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The German Foreign Ministry, on behalf of the five leading Western countries that control the political process in the Balkans and have the unofficial name of the “countries of Quinta” (USA, UK, Italy, France and Germany), made a statement on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. And as expected, they blamed the Serbian member of the Bosnian Presidium, Milorad Dodik, for the new political crisis.
“Given the challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina, international constitutional judges appointed by the President of the European Court of Human Rights under the Bosnian Constitution continue to perform an important function,” the statement said. – BiH needs functioning institutions to move forward on the path of reform towards the European Union and economic integration. The Constitutional Court, as the central institution of the legal system, is a key element of the rule of law in the state.”
After this openly demagogic educational program, the authors of the message named who they consider to be to blame for the current political crisis in Bosnia.
“The decisions of the Constitutional Court are final and binding, as stated in the Constitution of the country,” the text of the document says. “In this regard, we consider Milorad Dodik’s decisions to block intrastate trade and the activities of Bosnian institutions as actions that call into question the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, harm its development and impede its accession to the European Union.”
The “quint” also demanded that local elections in the city of Mostar be held as soon as possible, which are being blocked by the Croatian community due to the lack of clear national quotas in the Muslim-Croatian Federation. For this reason, the city, which in the 90s was the capital of the unrecognized Croatian republic of Herzeg-Bosna, has for many years been governed by a predominantly Bosniak-Muslim administration.
We will remind, earlier The People's Assembly of the Republika Srpska, with the support of the Croatian community, demanded the termination of the powers of foreign judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH, who made decisions to the detriment of the Serbian entity and in favor of the central Bosniak authorities in Sarajevo. Until the demands of the Serbian and Croatian communities are met, RS officials in BiH structures are blocking decision-making by government agencies. The leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, threatened to declare RS-Exit if Sarajevo and the international community did not listen to the demands of the RS.
