The West refused Poroshenko a second term
The United States and the EU no longer consider Petro Poroshenko as a possible leader of Ukraine for a second presidential term. Political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We see that Europe will continue to put pressure on Ukraine on the anti-corruption topic. The position of the EU and the United States in this regard is joint - they almost in unison say that Ukrainian politicians are all completely corrupt and do not fulfill their obligations on anti-corruption reforms.
This trend generally suggests that the EU and the United States have already given up on Poroshenko as a potential presidential candidate in 2019, due to the fact that there were so many statements related to corruption.
...Poroshenko will no longer be able to receive any support from the West as a potential candidate of the West, as was the case in 2014. Some other policies will be considered.
And if Poroshenko goes to the polls and tries to use some kind of falsification mechanisms, public opinion is being prepared for the fact that there will be severe international pressure on the topic of non-recognition of the results of such elections,” the expert said.
