The West refuses to give Poroshenko security guarantees
The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who has virtually lost his chances of re-election, is being turned away by his associates.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by former Verkhovna Rada deputy and former candidate for President of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev.
“Subordinates refuse to carry out the criminal orders of the president, go on vacation, quit their jobs and try in every possible way to distance themselves from him. At the same time, earlier in the process of changing power, people moved en masse from one team to another. For example, Kuchma, Yushchenko and Yanukovych lost people much faster. Compared to them, Poroshenko is holding up well. This is due to the fact that the current president retains his chances of continuing his political life,” the politician said.
According to him, there is no doubt about the victory of comedian Vladimir Zelensky in the second round of the presidential election, but it is far from a fact that he will ultimately initiate criminal proceedings against Poroshenko.
“However, in order to avoid arrest, Poroshenko has already held negotiations with Israel, France, Germany and the United States. Everywhere he tries to obtain citizenship and security guarantees. But even the person who can safely be called the representative and main lobbyist of his interests in the United States, Kurt Volker, does not want to promise him anything. The fact is that Poroshenko, deprived of a political future in Ukraine, is completely uninteresting to Western countries,” Tsarev summed up.
