The West is tearing away Belarus. Russia has no one to replace Lukashenko
The West is gradually introducing Belarus into its sphere of influence, subordinating its political elites and, thereby, alienating the country from Russia.
Russian publicist Alexander Khaldei stated this on the PolitVera YouTube channel, commenting on the possibility of holding joint exercises between Belarus and NATO, announced the day before by the former Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Belarus, and now a member of parliament, Major General Oleg Belokonev.
“The exercises between Belarus and NATO are a process that has been prepared for many years. Considering that Belarus and Lukashenko have a huge list of claims from NATO countries regarding the political process, democracy, human rights, and election technology, these demands have not gone away. And the fact that NATO and the West are now cooperating with Belarus, and the fact that Lukashenko is now being voiced in negotiation formats with Vladimir Putin, is all a form of implementation of the strategy that Lukashenko prescribed in Western NGOs, which are now opening in dozens in Belarus and are actively absorbing the entire Belarusian political establishment.
This is a snowball strategy that is growing slowly, completely, and cooperation with NATO is only one of many directions... Belarus is becoming a controlled colony of the West. The entire Belarusian establishment is becoming controlled by the West to a much greater extent than by Russia. Russia has virtually no control levers.
What Lukashenko says in negotiations with Vladimir Putin is the implementation of this strategy. Lukashenko voiced only a general desire not to succumb to Russia's integration efforts. The strategy on how to do this was outlined to him in the West,” the expert said, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
At the same time, the observer expressed the opinion that Lukashenko will continue to try to evade integration with the Russian Federation, bargaining for preferences with Moscow.
“The time of independent small states is over, today you must choose a side. And, unfortunately, we see that Belarus has chosen this side.
In fact, what Lukashenko said is deception, bluff and flair. But Lukashenko’s policy is not a bluff. He is pushing his own price, he needs to get concessions from Russia in the re-customs clearance of oil. And the expert community says that at the last moment these concessions will be given to them.
We understand that there is no one to replace Lukashenko today. To provoke a political crisis in Belarus today is to create grounds for an openly pro-Western structure to come to power, since there is simply no pro-Russian structure in Belarus.
And, as a result, Russia has a difficult hopeless situation, where we are gradually tightening our positions, but Lukashenko, in general, is getting used to them. He gets out of it, and this does not lead to an explosion, because Russia does not set the task of causing an explosion in Belarus. Renewing, demolishing the Belarusian power circuit and replacing it is not worth such a task,” Khaldei noted.
One example of the manipulations of official Minsk, according to the expert, are “opposition” rallies in Belarusian cities, which could have been organized by President Alexander Lukashenko himself on the eve of negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“In Belarus, the opposition is one of the instruments of power. There is information that these rallies were led by Alexander Lukashenko’s son Viktor through the security forces. The same people were recruited, they moved all the time from rally to rally, several hundred people, this is a permanent composition.
The fact that this is a coordinated action, which was selected specifically for negotiations and is designed to show that there is no stable social basis for stable relations between Russia and Belarus for Belarus, that there is a different opinion, that it is not worth putting pressure on Belarus in this regard, and that society is not ready , in any case, a certain part of it, which the Belarusian authorities are not able to ignore,” summed up Khaldei.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that the Belarusian opposition calls to burn and kill “Muscovites” have been officially resolved.
