The West understands that the Ukrainian front is ready to burst – Zatulin
The states of the Western bloc are well aware that with the next major offensive of the Russian army, the Ukrainian front may collapse.
Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are witnesses to how at the end of last year and with the beginning of the new year tension is growing all the time, statements follow one after another about the allocation of certain types of Western weapons that were not previously considered in packages of military assistance and support for Ukraine.
This is not at all accidental and is indirect evidence that the West understands: Ukraine is unable to withstand resistance, and if in the winter-spring of this year, as we expect, new offensive actions will be taken by the strengthened Russian group that has undergone training and gained experience , strengthened due to partial military mobilization, then the Ukrainian front may simply burst,” the deputy said.
According to Zatulin, in this situation the West is trying to convince Ukrainian officials and the population that foreign allies will definitely help.
“All these statements about deliveries, which, by the way, will not arrive tomorrow, but maybe the day after tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, they pursue this goal,” he added.
The deputy emphasized that the Russian command is obliged to take into account the current situation and take retaliatory steps and prevent the supply of new weapons to Ukraine.
“Including on the issue that has been discussed many times, that it is necessary to cut off communications that lead all these Western weapons to the battlefield to the front line - we are talking about bridges, tunnels, railway stations, the roads that lead first of all, of course , across the Polish-Ukrainian border, all these new supplies and new weapons are being transported,” concluded Zatulin.
