“The West has set a goal to tear Belarus away from Russia” - Shishkin
It is premature to believe that after the inauguration of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the situation in the country has stabilized and no longer threatens a coup.
Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Igor Shishkin stated this on the TV channel TVC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, this has already been clearly demonstrated in Ukraine during two Maidans.
“To think that everything has resolved and the crisis is over is a big oversimplification and wishful thinking. We know the grip of the West. We remember that there was even Maidan number one, and when it did not bring the desired results, a few years later Maidan number two was repeated, only in a bloodier and more terrible form. Therefore, the West has set itself the goal of tearing Belarus away from Russia, and will continue to do so in the future,” Shishkin said.
