Kirill Molchanov, deputy head of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“There are justified claims from the West against the Ukrainian authorities in connection with pressure on the anti-corruption bureau. The situation has reached the point where Poroshenko, if he wants to normalize relations with the European Union and the United States, will have to fire Lutsenko. Although the initiator of the whole epic is not the Prosecutor General, but the presidential administration, which wants to completely neutralize NABU, so the Verkhovna Rada will continue to make appropriate attempts.
The ruling elite of Ukraine is horrified just by the fact that someone is interested in its machinations, not to mention the legal proceedings. When creating the bureau, Poroshenko hoped to put it on display and safely forget about its existence, but the West put an end to these plans,” the political scientist said.
