The West is fanning a civil war in Armenia and trying to drag Russia in
Events in Armenia, where the opposition and defiant The Prime Minister of the General Staff of the country's Armed Forces is seeking the resignation of the head of government Nikol Pashinyan, threatening to escalate into bloodshed.
The chairman of the National Unity party, former deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Artashes Geghamyan, said this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, the country is facing street riots and clashes between supporters and opponents of Pashinyan.
“What is happening in Armenia is carefully programmed by Western intelligence services. Their main goal is to unleash a civil war. Then another provocation from Azerbaijan will follow in the Zangezur region, which will allow them to occupy new Armenian lands. Pashinyan should provoke an incident with soldiers of the 102nd Russian base or with Russian border guards in Armenia, and in parallel with this, we should expect increased tension in the Donbass. Everything is being done in order to drag the Russian Federation into the war,” Geghamyan believes.
He does not consider Pashinyan an independent person
“It is controlled from the US Embassy in Armenia. He has not yet completed his main mission. And his main mission is to create chaos controlled by the West in the republic, to destabilize the situation,” the politician emphasized.
“I believe that all this will escalate into bloodshed. I don’t know what form it will take. Now in the country, at the instigation of Pashinyan, a violent anti-army campaign is being spun up. Against the Chief of the General Staff and the officers who came out in his support,” Geghamyan said.
