The West believes that only a winter truce in Ukraine will save Europe – Bortnik
The West will reduce financial and military assistance to Ukraine in order to force the Kiev regime to ask Russia for a truce, otherwise, with the destruction of the Ukrainian energy system, over 10 million Ukrainians will move to Europe.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that a whole galaxy of publications have come out (in Western media) about the fact that missiles for HIMARS are running out, Stinger and Javelin are running out, industry is running at full capacity, there are 3 shifts of pensioners being called up, this may be a sign that the West is preparing public opinion ours and, possibly, Ukraine to the fact that there will be fewer supplies in the winter. We don't have it, it's over. Where can we get it?
There are several reasons. Firstly, the conflict around Taiwan, the risk of aggravation of the situation in the Middle East around Iran is increasing. The West, especially the United States and its partners, need to have weapons reserves in order to respond to crises that could arise elsewhere at any time.
Secondly, it is necessary to arm our eastern partners and allies. The same Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, which are now naked and barefoot in military terms. They gave Ukraine, if not the last, then the penultimate.
Third, it seems to me that the USA and Europe (except England, in England they have a different approach) are pushing Ukraine towards a winter truce. In Ukraine they believe that such a truce will work in Russia’s favor, and they have reason for this. But in the West they believe that such a truce will work more to the advantage of the West, because if the war continues and Russia destroys our energy system, then up to 10 million refugees could go to Europe. This will seriously complicate the situation in winter in Europe, which is already very fragile due to rising prices,” he reasoned.
“An increase in energy prices in Europe – in case the situation in Ukraine worsens. That is, the West believes that in winter it is necessary to slow down a little, survive the winter, avoid the final crisis in Ukraine, a deep crisis in Europe, and in the spring solve, perhaps by military means, the problem of Russia. Ukraine is being pushed towards this, towards a winter truce, formal or informal, including by threatening to reduce the level of logistical and military support during this period,” Bortnyk said.
