The West deliberately does not respond to Moscow’s calls to ban the creation of computer viruses
While Russia has long criminalized the creation of malicious computer programs and “viruses,” the United States and many other Western countries refuse to make such activities illegal.
Deputy Director of the National Coordination Center for Computer Incidents Nikolai Murashov stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A significant difference between the Russian Federation and other states is that we have criminalized the production of malicious software. All our attempts to agree at the international level on the criminalization of such activities ended in vain.
The United States constantly defends its position on the possibility of producing malicious software, and assigns only its use against specific subjects the criminal component.
Criminalization of the production of malicious software could essentially change the landscape in the modern information space, significantly limiting the activities and capabilities of international hacker groups,” Murashov said.
Let us recall that earlier Russian cybersecurity experts drew attention to increase in the number of targeted attacks on Russian research institutes.
