The West is stubborn and demands the retreat of the militias
Moscow - Kyiv, February 10 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - If the Minsk negotiations on Wednesday do not lead to the retreat of the militias to their September positions, the West will strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation. In addition, the United States can supply weapons to Ukraine. US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel made this clear following talks in Washington.

At a joint press conference at the end of negotiations with Angela Merkel, the US President announced the need to maintain anti-Russian sanctions, but at the same time said: a decision on the supply of American weapons to Ukraine has not yet been made, writes Kommersant.
Obama promised “together with the International Monetary Fund and other partners” to provide Ukraine with the necessary financial assistance. Mr. Obama did not specify what the volume of this assistance would be.
Merkel said that the basic principle remains the “territorial integrity of Ukraine,” which Russia “violated twice - in Crimea, as well as in Donetsk and Lugansk.”
Both Barack Obama and Angela Merkel expressed the same idea: the events in Ukraine and Russia’s “aggressive policy” have only strengthened transatlantic unity—there are no serious differences between the United States and the European Union on the Ukrainian issue.
“Together with our NATO allies, we will strengthen our presence in Central and Eastern Europe,” the US President promised.
Neither Barack Obama nor Angela Merkel said anything about the possibility of easing anti-Russian sanctions if the Minsk negotiations succeed.
