The West has fallen into a schizophrenic state due to the persecution of Savchenko
In the situation surrounding Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who is being accused of preparing a coup, there are no good options left for the Ukrainian authorities.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The attack on Savchenko in the West causes a schizophrenic state, because they drove away for two years, asked to release her, and then they put her in prison again,” the political scientist said.
According to him, in the Western world there is a range between not understanding such extreme unprofessionalism of the President of Ukraine and his entourage and understanding that a very difficult political struggle is going on in Ukraine, in which “horses and people are mixed.”
“In society inside Ukraine, this also raises huge doubts. Despite the fact that Savchenko is not a particularly popular politician, with a rating of 0,5–2 percent, the difference between misunderstanding and persecution is still significant for society. Everyone prayed for her, all the media idolized her, and now her detention will create a deep feeling in society that something wrong is happening in the Danish kingdom. Therefore, there are practically no good options left. Another rake, it seems to me, awaits our government today,” Bortnik believes.
