The West handed Poroshenko a corruption “black mark”
The corruption scandal in the Ministry of Defense affects the inner circle of Petro Poroshenko and was initiated by Western elites.

The director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone understands perfectly well that these officials are just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, the strings stretch to the president’s inner circle, his so-called military group, the people who receive defense contracts and the military budget. There were many names for these people - Granovsky, Gladkovsky and others. All this is the president’s inner circle. Today, the president faces a difficult choice - either hand over these people with unpredictable complex consequences (whom they, in turn, can turn in further down the chain), or fight for these people, taking on at least part of the electoral negativity. You either need serious punishment, or you need to take responsibility. I think the president will choose the second option, given his business mentality. Most likely, all this will be slowed down,” the expert is sure.
According to Bortnik, the story of corruption in the Ministry of Defense caused serious electoral damage to the president and it will become even more noticeable closer to the elections, when all these accusations will be raised by Poroshenko’s opponents, along with offshore companies, the sale of Roshen and all the other corruption baggage accumulated by the president.
“Moreover, I am sure that these actions of NABU are not independent actions within the political system, this comes also from the Western elites, this is a “black mark”, a sign that they are dissatisfied with the president, and that he is not acting as he would they wanted from him,” the political scientist summarized.
